Join us on Saturday October 18, 2014, in the In the Kathryn O’Keefe Theatre for screenings of films by Jeffrey Palmer.

Origins (18:26 mins.) Visually and sonically, "Origins" records the vastness of landscape as well as the intimacy of nostalgic memory. For centuries, Kiowa people traveled far distances, following herds of buffalo across the Great Plains region of North America. On their travels they witnessed many places, observed the universe, and developed many stories. Through storytelling a history, a geography, and a cultural worldview was developed and passed down generation to generation.

Isabelle’s Garden (8:26 mins.) "Isabelle’s Garden" is an uplifting story of a community coming together in reciprocity, through the hopes and dreams of a young Choctaw girl and her garden.

Honor Beats (7:26 mins.) This observational documentary highlights the sights and sounds of Indigenous culture alive and well in the Midwest. Positioned from a Kiowa perspective, the filmmaker’s gaze exists within the liminal space of an insider to the culture and outsider to the exhibition.
