Programs for Schools and Groups
The Museum of Indian Arts & Culture offers several choices of thematic tours with related hands-on activities for grades K-12.

Pottery Tour
This tour of current exhibitions focuses on the generational tradition of pottery making in the Southwest, initially for utilitarian purposes, and later, as works of art. The museum visit includes a gallery tour, and can include a related hands-on project of pottery making in the classroom.
Stories Tour
This tour of current exhibitions focuses on honoring the ancestors with dynamic oral traditions and stories of Southwest Indian people and how these traditions are transmitted between generations, as well as the reflection of the traditions created in artwork. The museum visit includes a gallery tour, and can include a related hands-on project of constructing a storyteller structure, made from cardstock and drawing (illustration) in the classroom.
Weaving Tour
This tour of current exhibitions focuses on various traditions and aspects in weaving within the cultures of the Southwest. In the hands-on activity, students learn to weave several different designs on a loom they take home.
