Friends of Indian Art- Museum Support Group

The Friends of Indian Art (FIA) celebrates its 23rd anniversary in 2017.  We are proud to continue to offer our members an array of exciting and informative programs highlighting Native American art, culture and history.  Our events are held in a variety of venues, including galleries, sculpture gardens, artist’s homes/studios, art collector’s homes, as well the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture (MIAC).  While our settings are casual, with light refreshments and appetizers being served beforehand, members find the presentations stimulating and enlightening.

The seven events planned annually are very popular with our members. However, FIA does a great deal more…membership dues support exceptional museum exhibitions; provide funding for special MIAC projects; and, working in conjunction with the museum director and curatorial staff, procure selected works of Native American art for display in exhibitions and the permanent collection.

While at the museum, please visit our FIA display case located at the bottom of the stairs, just around the corner and behind the lobby reception desk. Thanks again to all our members who continue to support the hard work of our all-volunteer steering committee.

For those who are not currently part of our Friends program, we hope you will join today!  To become a member of Friends of Indian Art, click here or call 505 982-6366 Ext. 100.
